In terms of network bandwidth and storage, our facilities are truly state of the art. We have over 70 student workstations, all Intel dual or 8 core computers running the latest versions of industry-strength applications, such as Final Cut Studio, Adobe Creative Suite Design Premium, and Apple XCode.

We have 30 HD video camera and tripod kits for students to check out, and a fiber-based network storage system with 44 terabytes of space for students to work and collaborate on projects. Our digital video workstations utilize Xsan software to directly address the network storage with up to eight fiber optic connections per workstation, which allows students to edit and create HD video projects in real time over the network, without the need to lug around external hard drives.

We use network home folders for universal logins, so students can keep their own application settings and files on our servers – and can access their account directly from any Mac in our lab or from their laptops off campus.

Students enrolled in our classes can take advantage of Apple Professional Certification opportunities within their normal class load. With two full-time faculty members holding Final Cut Studio Master Trainer status, we also offer a unique Master Certification course for our majors.
